Informed Supervision

Informed Supervision of Juveniles Who Have Sexually Offended is a 2-hour workshop for professionals and caregivers providing supervision to children and adolescents who have a history of sexually abusive behavior. Participants explore the cycle of abuse and learn strategies for intervention at different points in the cycle. A model for safety planning is introduced and practiced.

Participants will learn to:

  • Identify triggers in the abuse cycle and ways to interrupt the cycle;
  • Consider all of the elements of safety planning and who to involve;
  • Identify illegal behaviors and other abusive behaviors.

Completion of this training counts towards Child Development Associate (CDA), Specialized Care, or re-licensing hours in Vermont.
