Virtual Training of Facilitators in:
Project SELFIE: (Safe Expression Online for Internet Empowerment) ©
February 19th and 20th
Daily from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM EST
Project SELFIE is an aspect of the Healthy Relationships Project. This 3 hour training is provided via Zoom and equips attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate PCAVT's sexting prevention program for 7th to 12th graders. Project SELFIE (Safe Expression Online for Internet Empowerment) © has two developmentally appropriate components (7th & 8th Grades) and (9th to 12th Grades).
Objectives:
Participants will learn how to:
provide student lessons in developmentally appropriate, engaging ways.
provide faculty and staff trainings about child sexual abuse prevention, technology safety, and sexting prevention.
provide parent events about child sexual abuse prevention, technology safety, and sexting prevention.
train school personnel, such as guidance counselors, school nurses, and health instructors to facilitate Project SELFIE.
Participants will learn how to approach child care centers and schools to offer the program.

Overcoming Barriers to Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse
January 7th, 8th, 9th
Daily from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time
This 6 hour training provided via Zoom will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Overcoming Barriers to Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse.
Adults can do much to promote healthy sexual development in adolescents and decrease the chance of youth developing harmful sexual behaviors. When adults observe youth who have difficulty respecting others’ boundaries, they can learn concrete steps to address it.
Participants will learn how to:
Train adults on the opportunity to keep children safe from abuse by learning about the grooming process
Train adults to distinguish healthy behaviors from boundary violations and pre-offending behaviors.
Train adults to respond to boundary violations by adults and / or youth using role play to practice directly addressing concerning behaviors.
Train adults in effective strategies to overcome common barriers to addressing grooming behaviors in other adults and / or youth.

Everything Everyone Needs to Know to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse
January 28th, 29th, 30th
Daily from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time
This 6-hour training provided via Zoom will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Everything Everyone Needs to Know to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse.
Adults who are parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals want children to have abuse-free childhoods. This training is an important step! This interactive, conversational training covers essential information everyone can benefit from to be prepared to protect children from sexual abuse.
Participants will learn how to:
Teach adults in prevention that works to keep children safe from sexual abuse
Teach adults on what grooming is and how to be prepared to respond to protect children
Teach adults how best to talk to children about healthy behaviors
Teach adults about the mandated reporter expectations in their state and how to report suspected sexual exploitation or abuse of children

Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet
February 4th, 5th, 6th
Daily from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time
This 6-hour training provided via Zoom will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet.
Today’s youth live in a world that is fully intertwined with technology. Tweens and teens make decisions daily, often independently, regarding online relationships. This training provides adults with a deeper understanding of the multiple kinds of digital risks all youth encounter in the digital environment: online grooming, in-person grooming facilitated by digital communications, sexting, and online pornography. We also look at the legal consequences for minors engaging in consensual or non-consensual sexting.
Participants will learn how to:
Teach adults about the digital risks for children and adolescents and strategize ways to keep all youth safe in digital environments.
Train adults in effective strategies for dealing with youth exhibiting concerning digital behaviors.
Teach adults to know the resources that support healthy digital interactions.

Brain Development and Learning Consent During Childhood
February 25th, 26th, 27th
Daily from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time
This 6-hour training provided via Zoom will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Brain Development and Learning Consent During Childhood.
Adults want children to grow up with healthy relationship skills. Learning to respect others’ feelings about touch is called empathy-based consent. Brain science findings show that the optimal window for children to learn empathy skills occurs early in life.
Participants will learn how to:
Teach adults to understand the skills involved in respecting consent
Teach adults to know the developmental connections between childhood empathy and adult actions
Teach adults to understand brain science findings on empathy and the optimal developmental window to acquire it
Teach adults how to implement primary prevention strategies beginning in early childhood to prevent child sexual abuse and perpetration.
