Prevent Child Abuse Vermont Announces Inaugural Dinner for Safe and Happy Childhoods

Inaugural Dinner for Safe and Happy Childhoods

Montpelier, VT (May 2, 2024) – Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT) is partnering with the Trapp Family Lodge for the inaugural Dinner for Safe and Happy Childhoods. On May 9, the Trapp Family Lodge is hosting a five course beer pairing dinner to raise funds for all of the critical work of child abuse prevention that PCAVT and its’ volunteers and partners do across Vermont

PCAVT board chair and host of the dinner, Kristina von Trapp Frame, is encouraging people to join with her in support of the important work of prevention. “I’m glad to be a part of PCAVT because I believe its values align with my grandparents, Maria and Georg von Trapp’s values – creating safe and happy childhoods. This is sometimes a challenge for families. PCAVT has many support and education programs that are proven to work and therefore I support PCAVT. Please join me!”

Doors open at 6 pm, and the dinner begins at 6:30. Guests will hear about why each of the beers from von Trapp Brewing have been paired with a particular course, and hear stories of the von Trapp family and how they assured their own children would have safe and happy childhoods. Staff from PCAVT will share stories of their effective work. There will be a cash bar, photo booth, and very unique silent auction items, including a group hike to a family cabin on the Trapp Family Lodge property led by a member of the family.

Tickets must be purchased by 5/4/24 and are $150, with all proceeds supporting the work of PCAVT, including their new child and youth trafficking prevention program, family support programs, child sexual abuse prevention programs, and infant and toddler safety programs.

PCAVT partners with over 250 organizations across Vermont, and many more both nationally and internationally. PCAVT’s programs are skills based, teaching adults how to nurture healthy development in children, and emphasize adult responsibility in keeping children safe.
